These are some of the extra tools I use and recommend for making ferments. Although these are not necessary, they can be a great help. I always try to choose products that are Made in the USA, however, it is more difficult to find them and them often cost more. Feel free to search similar items if these are cost prohibitive.

Fermentation Lids - These are helpful for releasing the pressure that builds up in your ferments in the first few days. Using these lids removes the need to "burp" your jars.
Fermentation Weights - Keeps your vegetables or fruit safely under the brine while fermenting.
