HOST A CLASS!

Got a mom’s group who needs a night out, friends or family who want to learn something new and have fun? What about a mother/daughter gathering or couples date night? Need a homeschool class? I can do that!

You can host any class in your home or location. This is a great way to introduce others to Living Foods.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Contact me for availability

  • Choose a date and time, allowing 4hrs total for class

  • Invite your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else you can think of who enjoys learning new things, good food and great company

  • Sit back and enjoy the class because I do all the work

  • Class size is generally dictated by the amount of space you have and which ferment you choose

  • A minimum charge for 5 guests will required for any class

  • Want to learn more than one ferment? I can tailor a class just for your group!

 

In every Living Foods class, you and your guests will get to sample a variety of fermented foods, learn about the benefits of fermentation, how to get them in your diet, how to make them at home and we will also discuss gut health since it is the source of all health and disease.

Total time needed to host a class is about 4hrs, including set up and clean up. Total class time for participants is about 2hrs.

 

Here's the general flow of a class:

  • 40-45m prior to the start of class - My arrival and set up

  • 30m - Guests arrive; mingle, ferment sampling, snacking

  • 30m - Presentation on fermentation + Q&A

  • One hr - Demonstration/Hands On

  • 30-45m - Clean up

 

What I provide:

  • Presentation and discussion of real food and gut health

  • Variety of ferments for sampling

  • All eating ware 

  • All ingredients and supplies needed the for demonstration or hands on portion

  • Handouts and pens

  • The fun!

 

What I need from you:

  • An area to set up samples and snacks, preferably different than the demonstration area

  • An area with a smart TV for everyone to sit and watch the presentation - I can bring my own monitor if needed

  • An area to do the demonstration portion, large table/counter space with room for everyone to view or work

WHAT'S THE COST?

The cost ranges from $40 - $80/person, depending on the class you choose and location. There is an additional fee for locations over 60m from me. You can also choose to do a combination class of more than one ferment. Please note that in your request and we will discuss it.

  • Kefir $40/person - This is a demonstration class. Participants will get to sample kefir and a variety of other ferments, learn the benefits of fermentation and kefir, see a demonstration of how to make kefir at home, learn a variety of way to use kefir and take home kefir grains and milk to start fermenting.​

 

  • Fermented Vegetables $50/person - This is a hands on class. Participants will get to sample fermented vegetables and a variety of other ferments, learn the benefits of fermentation and the process of fermentation. They will each get to make their own pint jar of vegetables to ferment at home.

 

  • Sourdough Bread $80 - This is a hands on class. Participants will learn the history of bread, the benefits of properly fermented grains, all the steps of my sourdough bread recipe by making your own dough ball to take and bake, sample fresh bread from the oven and take home a mature sourdough starter.

 

  • Kombucha $50 - This is a demonstration class. Participants will learn the benefits of kombucha and fermented foods, sample a variety of ferments and see a demonstration on making kombucha, including how to flavor it. Cost includes a Kombucha SCOBY and 1 cup of starter tea.

    • Optional: One gallon glass jar with lid +$10, if available
