Living Food: Chicken Stock/Fermented Garlic

It's always a great time to put some new healthy living practices in place for you and your family!  Living foods are one tool we can use to pursue and maintain whole health and full life. They are foods full of living, beneficial properties that promote and support health and life in our body.

Do you know the difference between meat stock and bone broth? While both are healhful, there's a time when meat stock is more appropriate for our body. We will discuss both and understand what the difference is and when to use each one. 

In this combo class we will be learning about meat stock and ferments. Meat stock is a gentle and flavorful way to help heal and seal your gut. It's made with a few simple ingredients and is wonderful for sipping or using in soups and dishes. You will learn the whole process including breaking the chicken down, boiling, straining, bottling, pulling off all the meat, how to use the bones and what I do with all the connective tissue. 

A healthy, diverse microbiome is key to good health. With the addition of fermented garlic, you'll be adding microbes to your diet as well. You'll learn the benefits of fermentation, why you should be eating fermented garlic and how easy it is to make it. 

You will go home with a pint of finished chicken stock and a 4oz. jar of garlic to ferment. All ingredients and supplies will be provided. If you would like, bring an apron.
