These are some of the extra tools I use and recommend for making ferments. Although these are not necessary, they can be a great help. I always try to choose products that are Made in the USA, however, it is more difficult to find them and them often cost more. Feel free to search similar items if these are cost prohibitive.
I do make a small commission on the items you purchase from these links.
Bread Pan - USA Pans, this is the 1.5lb loaf pan which is a bit larger than a standard loaf pan. This one works perfectly for my sourdough loaf recipe. Made in USA.
Dough scraper - For sourdough and other cooking or baking projects, flexible and easy to use, helpful for scraping dough out of the bowl.
Bench scraper - For sourdough, useful for cutting dough and scrapping dough off the counter, also useful for cleaning dough and flour off the counter and other cooking and baking uses. Made in USA.
Food grade container with lid - For sourdough and other cooking uses, useful for first rise and seeing how much your dough has risen.
Danish Whisk - For sourdough, scrambled eggs and anything that needs whisked, blended or mixed. Very effective tool.
Food Thermometer - For sourdough, meat and other cooking and baking uses. I got this for Christmas and it's very fast to read and easy to use.
Stainless Steel Wash cloth - This is actually for cleaning cast iron pans and I do love it for that! But I also find it so useful for sourdough. I use it to clean dried on dough from the counter or table and to clean dough off my hands.
